COMPUTER PALS FOR SENIORS INC.
The Grand Opening of Computer Pals took place on 30 March 1993 in the Senior Citizen’s Center.
After a few moves, Computer Pals settled into the present office in 1999. Membership reached 234 in July and there were 18 trainers and five Office Assistants, along with librarians, newsletter folders, newsletter editor, office cleaners and many others all helping to make the club run smoothly and economically.
On Tuesday 10 April from 10 am – 3 pm we are combining the Senior’s Festival Open Day with our 25th Anniversary celebrations.
There will be no training on the day but trainers will be in attendance to answer questions about computers, tablets (iPhone and Android) smartphones (iPhones and Androids).
Tablets or Smartphones ie. iPads, iPhones or Androids such as Samsung are often all that is necessary for you to find information online. Information about bus and train timetables is on Tripview. While waiting for the bus you can check if the bus is running late. Going to the movies? Check what is showing at your favourite cinema.
There will be a special Afternoon Tea at 2 pm in the meeting room at the Memorial Hall to celebrate 25 years of helping seniors attain computer literacy. Everyone is invited to join us on this happy occasion.
We will also have a monster Food Hamper Raffle to help our funds.
We are again appealing to the members to support us by bringing suitable food items for the raffle. Please leave your donation at the clubhouse or bring to the General Meeting on Thursday 22 February. Tickets will be on sale at the General Meeting. $2 each or 3 for $5.
